To insure the ultimate candle experience, make sure you read, understand, and practice these safety tips:
A candle should never be used as a night light.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Do not burn near flammable objects such as curtains, lampshades, blankets, bedding, carpet, paper, books, or decorations.
Make sure the wick is no longer glowing and the candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room.
Keep all candles away from children and pets - it just takes a second for a tragedy to occur.
Always trim your wicks to 1/4 inch each time before you burn them. Leaving them too long can cause uneven burning.
Burn only on heat resistant surfaces - they can become hot enough to damage furniture .
Do not move a burning candle, or place in a draft ? this could cause the candle to burn to fast and cause uneven burning, as well as sooting and flame flare ups.
Never move a candle while the wax is liquid.
Keep candle free of foreign material - matches, wick clippings and debris at all times.
Read and follow the manufacturer?s safety guidelines carefully.
Do not burn the candle longer than the manufacturer suggests.
Make sure the room where you are burning the candle is well ventilated.
Discontinue burning when less than 1/2 inch of wax remains.
Do not use a knife or sharp object to remove the wax from the container, this could weaken the glass.
To prevent hot wax splatters use a snuffer to extinguish the candle.
Do not use water to extinguish a candle. This can cause the wax to splatter.
If a candle flickers repeatedly, smokes, or the flame becomes too high, extinguish it immediately. Allow the wax to cool, trim the wick, make sure there are no drafts in the room and then relight the candle.
